The Motivation Manifesto

Mar 01, 2015

BookLover

The Motivation Manifesto: 9 Declarations to Reclaim Your Personal Power by Brendon Burchard is written in a poetic style that is reminiscent of the writings of the founding fathers of America. I was very excited to get this book in the mail and couldn't wait to read it. This book is a dark brown hard cover with rounded edges and gold writing on the cover, it also comes with a red ribbon as a bookmark, and looks almost like a bible.

I liked how the book was laid out and found the nine declarations to be motivational. I guess in that sense the title do what it said it would, it provided motivation. However, I felt that there could have been some exercises in the book to help the reader integrate the declarations into their lives a little more. My favorite chapter was the last one where we are encouraged to take an extra breath or two before we begin something and perhaps in doing so we will see certain things in a different light.

Overall, I liked this book and would recommend it to those seeking motivation.

I acknowledge that I received this book free of charge from Hay House in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion of the book

E-Cubed: Nine More Energy Experiments that prove Manifesting Magic and Miracles is Your Full-time Gig by Pam Grout is the book that delves you further into the quantum field first discovered in E-Squared to prove that joy and miracles are a natural part of our life.

These nine new experiments show and prove to us everything from joy being our natural state to money being nothing but energy and a reflection of our beliefs. We are also shown that. "Life is Miraculous, and I can't really die." There is a bonus experiment at the end of the book for a total of ten experiments to show us that miracles are a natural part of our lives.

Overall, I really enjoyed the author's humor and wonderful way of showing us the true nature of our reality. I would recommend this book to everyone who wants a way to prove to themselves that the universe is at work for them and that they manifest miracles.

The Power of No: Because one Little Word can bring Health, Abundance, and Happiness by James Altucher and Claudia Azula Altucher is a great book on how to stop saying yes to all the wrong things and start saying no to everything from scarcity to yourself.

We are taught to say yes to ourselves and learn to use the power of no. This book contains a wonderful, “No Bill of Rights”. It is broken up into seven sections that show us how to use the power of no. One of my favorite sections is entitled “Saying Yes to Your New Power.” There is much to be gleaned from this book and much wisdom to be found within.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to bring the power of no into their life. This book is powerful and will help you say no to the things you need to. The exercises in this book are wonderful and will help bring the power of no into your everyday life.

Beyond Past Lives: What Parallel Realities can Teach Us About Relationships, Healing, and Transformation by Mira Kelley is a wonderful book that teaches us ten profoundly life changing lessons that Mira has learned from her clients while doing past life regressions.

We are taught everything from how to play with time to the fact that past lives are not really in the past but are simultaneous with our present one. This book is one of the best books that I have read in awhile. I loved the ten concepts that we are taught and enjoyed the exercises presented. We are taught how to do past life regression on ourselves and how this can help us deal with issues in the present. Two of my favorite chapters in the book were chapter nine, "You have the right to Love Yourself" and chapter ten, "Trust Yourself and Follow Your excitement." In chapter ten we are shown how to find our purpose and chapter nine shows us that we are deserving of love.

I would recommend this book to everyone who wants to enrich their lives with new ideas and have a wonderful transformation of their lives.

Ignite the Light

Jul 18, 2014

BookLover

Ignite the Light: Empowering Children and Adults to be their Absolute Best by Vicki Savini is a wonderful book on letting the light within us, both children and adults, shine.

This book is broken up into three parts. In part one, “See the Light” we are shown how to see the child within and what beliefs are holding us back. In part two, “Ignite the Light: The Seven Essentials” we are shown how to respond to life instead of react to it and thus teach our children to do the same. Some of the essentials we are taught are “loving Yourself” and to speak our truth. In part three, “Be the Light” we are taught how to put the seven essentials from part two into practice in our lives right away.

My favorite chapter is entitled, “Healing the Child Within” where we learn to heal our negative beliefs from childhood and be our absolute best. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to everyone, even those who don’t work with children as this book helps ignite the light in adults as well.

Angels of Abundance: Heaven’s 11 Messages to Help You Manifest, Support, Supply, and Every Form of Abundance by Doreen Virtue and Grant Virtue is a book that contains eleven messages from the angels to help us get more abundance in our lives.

The eleven messages are broken up into separate chapters. One of my favorite messages from the angels is entitled, “Allow Yourself to Revive” in which we are shown the importance of not only being open to giving but to receiving as well. In the Appendix of this book there are meditations for abundance to help us manifest different types of abundance through meditation. We are also shown how affirmations and visualization go hand in hand. We are shown how the eleven messages fit together to help us have every kind of abundance we could want.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I found it to be a good refresher on manifestation and enjoyed learning to use different techniques to manifest abundance in our daily lives.

Holy Shift!

Jun 05, 2014

BookLover

Holy Shift!: 365 Daily Meditations from A Course in Miracles edited by Robert Holden, Ph.D. is a collection of deeply inspiring, thought provoking, and moving quotes from A Course in Miracles, one for each day of the year. The quotes are taken from the text itself, the workbook, the manual for teachers, and the supplements to A Course in Miracles.

We are encouraged to mediate upon the quote throughout the day to find a new awareness or have a holy shift to a new perception. I think this book is a good companion to the Course and an exquisite introduction for those new to A Course in Miracles. Each day brings a new light to our current perception and how we can have a holy shift.

I found this book to be a great addition to my library and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be inspired, is new to the Course, has studied the Course, or who just wants a great spiritual book. This book is simply beautiful.

For the purpose of this review I read it through once and am now going to go and take it day by day. I acknowledge that I received this book free of charge from Hay House in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion of the book.

Tapping Solution for Weight Loss & Body Confidence

Jun 03, 2014

BookLover

The Tapping Solution For Weight Loss and Body Confidence: A Woman’s Guide to Stressing Less, Weighing Less, and Loving More by Jessica Ortner is a book that shows us how to use EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) also known as ‘Tapping’ to have less stress in our lives.

This book is broken up into three parts. Part one, “Preparing for the Journey” gives us an introduction to tapping, how to do it, and some of the science behind it. Part two, “Looking Within” shows us how to overcome emotional eating and how to feel content in our bodies. My favorite part was in part three, “Moving Forward” in which  we are shown how to use tapping to increase our own self-care and also to use it to help us say no when we need a break.

I liked that this book was directed towards women, although either gender can use it. However, it dealt with many issues that women have. Overall, this book was an enjoyable read and is not just for those who want to lose weight but also for people who want to be more loving towards both themselves and others.

I acknowledge that I received this book free of charge in exchange for my honest and unbiased review of it.

Angel Dreams

Angel Dreams: Healing and Guidance from Your Dreams by Doreen Virtue and Melissa Virtue is a wonderful little book on dreams and asking angels for guidance with our dreams.

This book is broken up into two parts. In the first section entitled, “Part I: About Angel Dreams”, we are taught how each Archangel can help us with our dreams, how to recall our dreams, and how to create our dreams. In section two, “Part II: Interpreting your Dreams”, we are given some basic symbols and their common meanings. We are also taught about problem-solving dreams, past-life dreams, and angel messages among other things. I enjoyed learning about some of the techniques to enhance dreaming and also how each Archangel can support us during dream time.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. I would recommend it to anyone interested in dreams. I think some of the information would be known by those who have studied dreams for awhile. That being said, I think they may also find something new.

Quantum Creativity

May 21, 2014

BookLover

Quantum Creativity: Think Quantum, Be Creative by Amit Goswami, Ph.D., is a wonderful new look at using the principles of quantum physics to be creative. At first I wasn't sure if I would like this book or if it would be too technical but once I started to read it I couldn't put it down.

This book is broken up into six parts. Each of the six parts expands upon what we have learned to be more creative. The six parts are entitled: 'Part I: Steps to Understanding Human Creativity', 'Part II: The Creative Process', Part III: Can Anyone Be Creative?', 'Part IV: New Paradigms in Old Creative Arenas', Part V: Spiritual Creativity', and 'Part VI: Bringing Creativity to the Center of Your Life'. I enjoyed every single 'part' of this book. I believe some of my favorite parts were on the creative process and spiritual creativity.

Overall, this book was an enjoyable read and I think the author explained things in a way that anyone can understand. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to bring more creativity into their life or just wants to learn something new. This book is highly recommended.

I acknowledge that I received this book free of charge from Hay House and that this is my honest and unbiased opinion of the book.

Archetypes

May 20, 2014

BookLover

Archetypes: Who Are You? by Caroline Myss shows us ten main archetypes of our time. This book shows us the ten main archetypes that have more specific ones under them. For instance the main ‘Caregiver’ archetype covers also the Mother, Teacher, and Healer archetypes among others.

If you have read Sacred Contracts also by the same author I believe this book could be used as a companion to it. This book makes it very simple to find your archetype by giving us a website (www.archetypeme.com) to go to in order to find our overall main archetype (caregiver, athlete, advocate, fashionista, intellectual, rebel, queen/executive, visionary, spiritual seeker, or artist/creative). I enjoyed the section under each archetype where it told us how our archetype gains and looses their power and also how to regain it.

The one thing I wish the author had done was to go deeper into some of the more major aspects under each general archetype instead of just giving a main overview of the main archetype. It seems that we could figure out our main archetype fairly easily while figuring out which aspect of the particular archetype we are might be a little harder. I thought delving into that would have brought more substance to the book. Overall, it was a good overview of the archetypes. I would recommend this book to someone who is new to the subject of archetypes.

I acknowledge that I received a free copy of this book from Hay House in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion of the book.

Mind Calm

May 13, 2014

BookLover

Mind Calm: The Modern-Day Meditation Technique that gives you 'Peace With Mind' by Sandy C. Newbigging is a wonderful new look at meditation. The Calm in 'Mind Calm' stands for "Conscious Awareness Life Meditation".  One of my favorite parts in this book is when the author shows us "how to live with time, without being trapped in your mind by it."

This book is broken up into two parts. In part one we are given teachings on why our minds are so busy and the benefits of Mind Calm. We are also shown techniques on how to use Mind Calm. In part two, "The 10 part Mind Calm Programme" we are given a deeper understanding of how to use the mind calm technique presented in part one for specific things such as wisdom, peace, and joy. I enjoyed this book and found the techniques easy to incorporate into my life. I also liked how each of the techniques came with a sort of 'game' to use.

Overall, I thought this book introduces us to a wonderful new technique that can be done with eyes opened or closed. I also like that we are given cures to the common causes of our busy minds. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to bring stillness and peace into their lives. I would also recommend this book for those who think they are to busy for meditation, or that they can't meditate as this book will change your mind.

Miracles Now: 108 Life-Changing Tools for Less Stress, More Flow, and Finding Your True Purpose by Gabrielle Bernstein shows us 1-8 simple and short techniques we can use in our lives that only take a minute or two in order to find peace and contentment in our fast paced lives.

One of my favorite exercises is entitled, "Be the Lighthouse" in which we are encouraged to be a light instead of a victim. The 108 exercises in this book are encouraging and bring peace to our lives. The author gives us exercises inspired from Kunadlini yoga and A Course In Miracles to bring peace and less stress. How to Stay Sane in a Crazy World

Apr 26, 2014

BookLover

How to Stay Sane in a Crazy World: A Modern Book of Hours to Soothe the Soul by Sophia Stuart is a beautiful little book. The author tells us about her battle with cancer and how it inspired this book. The photography in this book is exquisite.

How to Stay Sane in a Crazy World is broken up into three parts. In part one, "Morning" we are given ideas to inspire us for the day ahead. In part two, "Afternoons" we are driven to succeed. In part three, "Evening" we are given ideas and words to help us unwind from the day. This book is inspirational and about having self-care and self-love. My favorite part was in part three when we are shown how to make a 'Kindness Kit' for ourselves or we could even use this idea to make a kindness kit for others.

I really enjoyed the ideas presented in this book. I think this is a wonderful book for anyone and everyone to help them take care of themselves. If for no other reason I would get this book for the pictures which were taken by the author during her travels. This books is a wonderful way to help us unwind and as the author states, "soothe your soul".

Percolate

Apr 20, 2014

BookLover

Fun, entertaining, and inspiring are just some of the words I can think of to describe Percolate: Let Your Best Self Filter Through by Elizabeth Hamilton-Guarino which also includes “Coffee Breaks” with Dr. Katie Eastman.

This new book takes us through nine steps to help us become our best self. The nine points have names such as, “Create Your Own Best Blend” and “Percolate Peace”. One of my favorite chapters is entitled, “What Would Betty White Do?”. Just like the author I too love Betty White and enjoyed that the author asked herself this question and found that the answer was laugh and not take life so seriously.

This book is filled with questions to ask ourselves in order to become our best self and in addition there are coffee breaks at the end of each section to help us integrate the ideas into our lives. Through the metaphor of a cup of coffee we are shown ways to create our best self and find peace. I also enjoyed the parte entitled, “Percolate Peace” to help us find inner peace.

This book will inspire you, make you laugh, and most important show you how to let your light shine through. I would recommend this book if you want an inspiring way to be the best you that you can be.

The Remembering Process

Apr 13, 2014

BookLover

The Remembering Process: A Surprising (and Fun) Breakthrough New Way to Amazing Creativity by Daniel Barrett and Joe Vitale is an absolutely mind-blowing book. I enjoyed this book so much that I read it in one sitting. I could not put this book down.

This book introduces us to a process in which we remember what has happened to us in the future. By using this process we can become more confident, find healthy relationships, and attract wealth. According to the authors instead of the ‘Law of Attraction’ we are using the ‘Law of allowing’. We are allowing ourselves to remember what happened in the future thus bypassing our ego trying to tell us we can’t do something because we are telling our ego that it already happened. I really enjoyed learning this very simple process and am excited to start using it in my life. The entire process is composed of six components that are easy and fun to use.

I enjoyed this book immensely and like how the authors showed examples of how they used it to write this book. Overall this book is mind-bending and will expand our view of time and space. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a fun way to get success in any area of their lives.

I acknowledge that I received this book from Hay House free of charge in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion of the book.

Angel Astrology 101

Apr 04, 2014

BookLover

If you are interested in Angel's, Astrology, or both then the Book Angel Astrology 101: Discover the Angels Connected with Your Birth Chart by Doreen Virtue and Yasmin Boland is a great brook for you to read. This book gives a brief introduction to the history of astrology and shows us how to find our natal or birth chart by typing in "free Natal Chart" on any major search engine.

We are also shown what the meaning of the signs we are given is. Our sun sign being our core self, moon being what we need and feel, Mercury is about how we express ourselves, Venus is how we love, Mars determines our conflict-resolution style, and our Ascendant or Rising sign is how we present ourselves to the world. We are then taken through each of the twelve zodiac signs and shown which angel goes with each sign and where it falls in our chart and its' meaning to that specific placement.

I absolutely loved this book. The only thing I wish is that it had all the planets in the book so we could learn how the angels and signs effect those planets too. Overall, I thought this book was well written and informative. I would recommend it to those interested in astrology and angels. I love looking up information for myself and saying, "yeah, that makes sense" or "that's true". This book is one I will continue to go back to.

I acknowledge that I received this book free of charge from Hay House in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
