Empowered YOUth: A Father and Son's Guide to Conscious Living is the heartfelt story of Michael and Jeffrey Eisen, who rose up from a tumultuous, emotional past to come together in a loving, respectful relationship as father and son, coach and student. Through this engaging narrative, they help deconstruct the paradigms and beliefs that contribute to anxiety, stress, and unrest within the family unit. They provide a refreshing perspective on how parents and kids can work together to empower and support one another by opening the channels of communication, dissolving fear, and surrendering the need for control.
With a perfect balance of moving stories, applied learning, and practical wisdom, Empowered YOUth offers guidance and insights for parents, young people, and educators. While adults will instantly relate to Jeffrey's struggle to connect with his children, provide for his family, and listen to his own heart's desire, young people will love Michael's honest and emotional examination of an angst-filled childhood that was laden with stress, sadness, isolation, and self-inflicted pressure.
Through this story of a relationship that has been broken apart and put back together, Jeffrey and Michael provide inspiration for those looking to empower the next generation in a more loving, open, and intuitive way. Empowered YOUth will leave readers feeling hopeful, passionate, and optimistic.
The book, emPOWERed YOUth was written by a father and son, Michael and Jeffrey Eisen. The subtitle of the book says, "A father and son's journey to conscious living." The subtitle really describes what this book is like. In the book, the Eisen's take us on a journey that describes how they went from feeling stressed, unhappy, and unhealthy to feeling peaceful, happy, and healthy. The transformation in their relationship with each other, as well as the changes they have made in their work, truly inspires me.
Michael Eisen is a passionate, authentic, and charismatic speaker and he is the founder of the Youth Wellness Network which is an organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering youth across the globe to live happier and more positive lives.
??Jeffrey Eisen went from being President and CEO of a multimillion dollar business to a life of awakening, empowering, and inspiring others by sharing what he has learned through his work as a life coach.
I was very curious to read this book after speaking with Michael during an interview I did with him last year. Michael tells, in the book's introduction, about what it was like to meet Louise Hay and Reid Tracy and be asked to share his story with them was interesting and inspiring to me.??
The book gives an autobiographical view of the lives of Jeffery and Michael Eisen. I found it interesting to hear both sides – back and forth – how Jeffery (the Dad) saw it, what he was thinking, feeling, and learning – and how that helped Michael (the Son) to see life in some new ways, change how he felt, what he believed, and also inspired him to create the Youth Wellness Network.
?The book includes life stories along with a collection of what the Eisen's feel are their most important life lessons. In the book are insights, and principles that influenced the Eisens and supported them in their journey to conscious living. Reading this book can help people realize that everyone has the ability to change their life for the better.
?At the end of the book is a resources section that includes many exercises, activities, and practices you can choose to make part of your daily life or just pull them out when you need them. ??
The Eisens believe this book can help people improve their relationships and begin to create a new future full compassion, understanding, empowerment, and true happiness for everyone. I think they are right.??
What did I like about this book?
??I liked hearing both stories – from the dad, Jeffery, and the son, Michael. I was inspired by how Jeffrey's decision to become a life coach helped his son in so many ways. It was also inspiring to know that when you decide to change how you look at life, think about life, and therefore how you feel about it, you can go from feeling ill, unhappy, and stressed, to feeling healthy, happy, and peaceful. The Eisens have learned how to be in agreement with the flow of life. The changes these two men have made is inspiring. ??
The Eisens give us a new perspective on how parents and kids can empower each other. How? By opening up to honest communication and a willingness to let go of beliefs that cause unhappiness, illness, and a life full of fear and stress. This book offers guidance for parents, young people, educators, and anyone who wants to live a more empowered and loving life. ??
Adults will probably be able to relate to both Jeffery and Michael's stories. Young people will relate most to how Michael was feeling – especially during high school and college. ??
?In my opinion, this book will be most helpful to parents and young people (teens through early 20s). But I also believe the book could be helpful for people who want to re-look and re-create their relationships with their own parents.?
~Michael Eisen, EmPOWEREDed Youth
In their book, Empowered Youth, Michael and Jeffery Eisen have given parents and children the most valuable gift- the opportunity to learn and grow from the experience of one father/son duo. Personal narrative remains one of the most powerful avenues for empowerment, and to read the Eisen’s story is to embark upon a journey of discovery- uncovering the remarkable gifts parents and children have to offer one another. Michael and Jeffery take their readers along on the most personal of journeys- through hardship and struggle and finally to mutual understanding and unconditional love.
Through Michael’s story, young readers will uncover what it means to be true to one’s self, to love and honor the self above all else and arrive at the realization that with unconditional self-love we are able to love others unconditionally. He offers concrete tools and exercises designed to help young readers discover their own inner truth and live this truth in their daily lives.
Jeffery’s story takes readers on a journey of self-discovery from a parent’s perspective. Using candid and honest prose, he relates his own journey to empowerment without pretense or disguise, and drives home the notion that the most effective parents- and the happiest people are those who live according to their own inner wisdom- discovering what brings them joy and acting as a living example to their children.
Empowered Youth is not only a testimony of the power of the unconditional love between parents and children, it is a reminder that no matter what path we choose, if we embark on life’s journey with freedom, authenticity, an open heart and a clear mind, we will discover our own personalized path to joy and our contributions to the world will be without limit.
