I just finished this wonderful two-cd audio set by spiritual powerhouses Wayne Dyer and Eckhart Tolle. What a combo! They have an insightful visit with each other, made me think of coffee with Wendy--although our audience is usually furry household pets instead of a lecture hall full of appreciative spiritual seekers!
Having recently read and thoroughly enjoyed Wishes Fulfilled by Wayne Dyer, I found the cd's to be aligned with the same beautiful concept of "I Am." Our extraordinary selves are described as both encompassing and transcending our ordinary selves. Our physical, emotional/mental selves comprise our fabuluosly ordinary self; our infinite soul, our Presence, is our extraordinary self. This conversation is support for recognizing our ego vs. our I AM.
A big message that I got out of this is to treasure what I am--this is the extraordinary in me. An affirmation given for this is:
I treasure my magnificence to be an awake being.
If you have read any of Wayne Dyer's or Eckhart Tolle's work, you will enjoy this cd set. If this is your first encounter with either, you will also appreciate this insightful exchange. Their interaction is synergistic, their shared thoughts are uplifiting, and their humor is divine (pun intended!). I bet even the Dalai Lama would get something out of listening to this! The first cd has four tracks, totalling almost an hour (58:23). The second cd has six tracks and includes audience questions at the end, for a total of a nice, healthy hour (66:35).
Hay House gave me this awesome spiritual support cd set simply in exchange for my honest viewpoint of it. Two listening hours very well spent, I'd say. :)

I have been on kind of an intellectual, physical and spiritual journey of sorts for most of my life. Seems like at a young age I sought out a different path and then somewhere along the way I lost that and through unlikely events have found my way again. Along this journey I have had many mentors including Wayne Dyer, Eckhart Tolle, Gregg Bradon, Bruce Lipton, just to name a few. So when HayHouse publishing offered Wayne Dyer and Eckhart Tolle's new CD set 'The Importance of Being Extraordinary" for review I didn't hesitate to have them ship it right out.

First Impressions
Wow I can't wait to listen to these CDs. Two of my favorite writers together sharing their insight and reminding us all that we are intended to have extraordinary lives. Yup, I am all set to amp up this ordinary life of mine and make it extraordinary!
How I used it
I was excited that it was a CD set and not a book, although I usually prefer books, but I thought this was a great opportunity to enjoy a bit of inspiration while I was running errands. Boy was that a mistake. I slipped the first CD in and headed off to the store to pick up a few vegetables for dinner and this is where things went wrong. The information is so absorbing and thought provoking that driving becomes a second thought. It took me over 45 minutes to get to the store because I was so busy listening to the CD that I missed every turn, luckily no one was injured in the making of this review. Lesson learned, this CD is best listened to from your recliner! Safety first my friends.
This CD set is absolutely wonderful; as usual, both Wayne Dyer and Eckhart Tolle deliver a profound amount of thought provoking information beautifully weaved together with humor and humility. They both come to the table with the intention of transmitting a spark of consciousness to help us disarm our ego and open ourselves up to the true meaning of our experience here on Earth.
In the CDs they touch base on various topics from health to violence throughout giving bits of wisdom helping us to see beyond what is happening in our perceived world. I love the way both Wayne Dyer and Eckhart Tolle have the ability to, through casual conversation, drop incredibly profound statements that have the potential to be life altering. One statement, one quote could be just the thing you need to shift from the ordinary to the extraordinary. Here are a few that struck a chord with me:
"We teach people to be ordinary" Wayne Dyer
"Extraordinary is to be awake, aware, present" Eckhart Tolle
"Living in the moment nothing is premeditated thoughts come out of fields of awareness" Eckhart Tolle

This is a no brainer, Mother Earth is tickled pink that Eckhart Tolle and Wayne Dyer are helping awaken us to the true meaning of our experience on Earth. Two thumbs way up from Mother Earth.

I received this CD set from Hay House for review purposes, I wasn't financially compensated, and this is my honest opinion of the product. I've followed the teachings of Dr. Dyer for a few years now, but I'm probably one of the few who has not read Eckhart Tolle. However, I found this 2 CD, live lecture intense, empowering, and enlightening. Both men have a wonderful gift of simplifying those deep spiritual, endlessly debatable Truths. Ideas that could be considered fighting words, or major points of contention in exclusionary religions, are dusted off and given a deeper perspective. They do this in a gentle, easily understood way without stepping on any toes or pointing any fingers. This is a conversation that you'll want to listen to several times, and revisit occasionally. The teachings are simple, beautiful, and profound, but not necessarily a listen to it once, and you've learned it kind of experience. Any western student of Zen Buddhism or Taosim should certainly give it a chance. You can create an extraordinary life by finding your power within, by discovering where your inspiration lies, you'll have no need for motivation. Very good stuff here.
